That New Business Card Smell

Don’tcha just LOVE the first look at new business cards!? I sure do!

These babies arrived just in time for #FlBlogCon13

You can’t hear me but I’m squealing over here!!

I’m so excited about the conference, this weekend. It’s my first ever, blogger convention!

I’m a little nervous, but my good friend Maria Diestro is going with me, so I think I’ll be OK.

I’m looking forward to meeting bloggers from around the state and learning new strategies for my growing business.

If you’re going to be there, please stop me and say hello. I’ll even give you one of my fancy schmancy new cards!!

Now my only question is…I ordered 1000, will that be enough?!!? ahahahaha

Art Inspiration Day

Hey Hey, what a great weekend it was!

The mister and I finally got to take the kiddos down to Miami, for a fun day visiting the Wynwood Walls!

If you ever get an opportunity to get down there, I highly recommend it!

I Took Monday Off

So, I never take week days off, but yesterday was the first time all summer the kiddo didn’t have swim  practice.

So, I took the day off of work and spent it with her.

We had a wonderful little lunch date, bought some school supplies and snuggled up and watched movies.

Our lunch date was at this cute little Bistro, not that far from home.

It was divine. I treasure these rare moments where life slows down, just enough for me to enjoy it.

Happy Friday

Well, we made it…it’s FINALLY Friday!

It’s a rainy one here in South Florida, but no matter. Our weekend plans are to relax to the max, if it’s raining that’s even better!

We are Hermit Crab sitting at my house for the next week. It’s my first experience with this critters, they are pretty cool!

Hope you all have a LOVELY and wonderful weekend.

A Walk Outside to Clear My Head

Happy Friday, y’all!

You know how that first week back from vacation is pretty tough?

Your body still wants a nap every afternoon, like you had on vacation, but you have to get your brain back in proper order?

You’re trying to play catch up with emails and projects and overall you just feel a tad overwhelmed?

No, just me? Hahaa, ok, well anywayssssss, that’s how my week went.

As I was sitting at my desk yesterday, I decided I needed some fresh air to help my brain. So I took a walk outside.

Apparently, we have a baby corn snake living on our porch!

I’m not a huge fan of snakes. I leave them alone and they leave me alone.

But this little guy was all curled up and sleeping away. His colors were beautiful!

I think he’s eating really well. We’ve had so much rain that there are about a BILLION

tiny, baby tree frogs in our yard. They are so cute and about the size of your thumbnail.

This guy was much bigger and totally chillin’ in the rain.

I felt like he was saying, “Hey ladies, how YOU doin’?”.

So, that was my walk, to clear my head. It worked and I went back to work and finished up for the day.

Do you have any rituals that help you when you’re feeling a little less than productive?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend xoxo

Summertime is for Fitness (apps)

I don’t know about you, but when it’s hot out I tend to get more into fitness.

It’s most likely due to being a Florida Native. If it gets below 70 degrees, my body forgets how to operate!

I’m back on my fitness plan and wanted to share my favorite Fitness Apps with you guys.

Map My Fitness is a wonderful app that I LOVE!

I mostly do walking and running, and this app has a built in GPS feature.

You turn it on at the start of your workout and it tracks you pace, distance…even calories burned!

It is also available as MapMyRun and MapMyRide.

My other favorite fitness app is MyFitnessPal.

My fitness pal

This app is a GREAT way to keep track of your caloric intake, as well as including your workouts into your daily meal tracking.

It holds me accountable for what I eat throughout the day AND helps me stay on track.

Both apps have a “friends” feature, that allows you to connect with friends (either through social sites like Facebook and Twitter or from your contact list) that are also using the apps.

You can encourage each other, and it works! If you too use this app, let’s connect! I’m great at encouragement and I could use all the help I can get!

There are a TON of other apps and networks that help with all sorts of fitness plans. Do you have a favorite?

I’d love to hear about your experiences. I’m always looking for better ways to get fit!

Handmade Fox

I just HAD to share this with you all!

The kidlet was so upset last week, she had accidentally left my Mother’s Day gift at school and wasn’t able to give it to me on Sunday.

So last Tuesday, when I picked her up from school, she made me open a very prettily wrapped present…before I could even leave the school parking lot!

Inside was the most adorable, handmade clay fox I have EVER seen! I took about 1 billion photos of it, but was able to cut that down to the following few.

Look at his adorable little top hat! I seriously freaked out about it the whole ride home.

Pretty much THE BEST Mother’s Day gift, EVER! Don’tcha think?

I feel so blessed that my daughter is sweet, kind and amazingly creative. LOVE her!!

While I was out snapping pics of the fox, these two came up behind me.

Must be spring!
